Senior Yoga

Yoga is a practice that has been shown to slow  the effects of aging.  The practice improves balance and flexibility through movement and gentle stretching that can keep our bodies flexible and healthy as we age.  It is so important to keep using and stretching muscles and joints and to continue with weight-bearing activities so that the body can keep up with the mind.  Click here for a great article on 50+ yoga.

The structure of a senior class is tailored to the needs of the students. Chairs can be helpful for some postures and stretches.  Each class incorporates joint-movement to keep them juicy and mobile, weight-bearing activities and stretching for flexibility.  Amanda strives to establish an atmosphere that is fun and encouraging so that each student is able work safely and comfortably with their practice.
